Honest Lawyers

We are presently working on a proper definition of an honest lawyer.

At a recent Republican State Convention I approached an appealate court judge and another individual with whom he was conversing. I introduced myself and in a break in the conversation asked both of them what constituted an honest lawyer. The appealate court judge demurred but the other individual gave a thoughtful response: "I guess it would be one who put the good of society ahead of the good of himself and his client".

So far this is among the best I have heard.
